On Friday 21st August at 11.00am, the feast of Pope St Pius X, Br. Gildas Parry O.Praem will be solemnly professed as a member of the Order of Prémontré, being also incorporated as a canon of our Canonry of Our Lady of Sorrows and St Philip Benizi, Chelmsford.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, and in order to live stream this event, the Mass of profession will be held in the Priory chapel, and therefore, sadly, will not be open to the public. Those wishing to follow the Mass live, though, may do so via our Facebook page. A pdf version of the profession booklet is available to download here, for those who may wish to use it as a guide to the Mass. The profession Mass will also be available to view on our YouTube channel in due course.

The Order of Canons Regular of Prémontré, otherwise known as Premonstratensians, Norbertines or White Canons, was founded as an Order of canons regular following the Rule of St. Augustine of Hippo by St. Norbert in 1120 at Prémontré, in northern France. By solemn profession a member of the Order vows to follow the Rule of St. Augustine and the manner of life of a Premonstratensian canon in poverty, chastity and obedience until death, and becomes fully incorporated into a specific canonry.
