Feast of Bl Peter-Adrian Toulorge
Posted on 13th October 2012 by Rev. Pius Collins
It is with great pleasure that today we celebrate the first feast day of Bl Peter-Adrian Toulorge , Martyr of the French Revolution, who was beatified by His Eminence Angelo Cardinal Amato SDB in April of this year. Here at the Generalate Mass was celebrated by the Very Rev Bernard Ardura o.praem, Procurator General and President of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. Fr Ardura asked us to be inspired by Bl Peter-Adrian's witness, not only his ultimate witness in martyrdom, but the witness he gave in his life as a Norbertine Canon.More information about the life of Bl Peter Adrian can be found here, and the video of his beatification is here.Remember also to pray to Bl Peter-Adrian, and reports of any favours granted through his intercession should be reported to our Postulator General Gabriel Wolf o.praem.[T]hey have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. - Rev 7:14
O Blessed Priest and Martyr Peter Adrian, glory of the Christian clergy and the Norbertine Order, I rejoice that from the day of your martyrdom you have been a heavenly protector of those who ask for your intercession. I rejoice also that God found you worthy to suffer imprisonment and death for Our Lord Jesus Christ. I rejoice as well that Holy Church has declared you blessed on earth and raised you to the glory of the altar. Pray for me that I may turn my own gaze toward heaven and not to the passing things of this world. Pray for me that I may live an upright life and live and die in the religion of the Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Roman Church. Pray for me for the particular intention I bring before you [here pause to express your intention] since I know you to be a perfect friend of those who love the God who so loved and favoured you. Amen.
